Quand j'étais môme, j'étais fasciné par ce clip : je trouvais Kate Bush très belle, et en même temps je craignais un peu que les femmes - une peuplade mystérieuse quand on a une dizaine d'années - ne soient toutes dotées du même tempérament. Fort heureusement ce n'est pas le cas, ai-je besoin de le préciser...

The Cure a tendance à revenir dans ma vie lors d'occasions aussi diverses que : besoin de me remémorer le caractère ingénu de mes années lycée,  soudaine envie d'entendre quelque chose de glacial afin d'équilibrer une consommation excessive de musique Soul, ou enfin simplement parce que ce groupe a su inventer un son caractéristique, venimeux, terriblement efficace, que j' aime réécouter.

Extrait de l'album Faith, datant de 1981, Other voices est - selon moi - le point d'équilibre parfait dans la formule Curesque : une basse puissante, écrasante, chaloupée, un beat languissant, la voix de Robert égrainant des paroles ambiguës dans une vapeur d'échos. Et ça groove !

Un summum de sensualité froide, la mélopée d'un spleen contemporain à ce point encore tolérable.
