Dean Tavoulatis s'est extirpé de son domaine de prédilection, le cinéma, pour présenter à la Galerie Catherine Houard, son travail de Directeur Artistique (Chef Décorateur), mais aussi certaines de ses compositions plastiques.
L'artiste a contribué à la création de nombreux chef-d'œuvres du cinéma (Bonnie and Clyde, Zabriskie Point, Apocalypse Now, Conversation secrète, Le Parrain...) dans lesquels, bien entendu, la beauté plastique revêt une importance particulière.
Un savoir-faire, un immense talent qui semblent aujourd'hui appartenir au passé, à l'ère de la palette graphique. Mais quel passé.

Richard Prince expose son travail à la BNF, pour sa première monographie Française.

Célèbre pour ses collages de Cow-boy Marloboro, ou pour sa série de Nurses (dont une figure sur la pochette de l'album "Sonic Nurse" de Sonic Youth - 2004), adepte de la récupération, du détournement, du collage, il est un des grands narrateur d'une Amérique fin de Siècle.

Mais il est également le détenteur d'une des plus vaste collection de livres au monde.

Pour son exposition parisienne, il s'approprie le fond de collection du lieu et s'amuse à exhumer des trésors oubliés qu'il maquille d'un sens nouveau. Il dévoile également quelques exemplaires de sa collection personnelle, plaçant ainsi l'objet livre au cœur de l'attention.
